Steve’s personal journey as a disability advocate began after a life-altering skiing accident in 2019 left him in a wheelchair. This experience fuelled his determination to create change and promote inclusivity for all. Steve is a dedicated advocate for spinal cord injury survivors and a passionate champion of disability rights and inclusion. Currently serving as the Chairman of Back Up, a nonprofit organisation providing vital support and resources to individuals with spinal cord injuries, Steve is committed to improving the lives of those affected. In addition to his role at Back Up, he is a Trustee at Wings for Life, an organisation that is unwavering in its commitment to advancing spinal cord injury research. His dedication to this cause is not new; during his time as CEO of PageGroup, he was a staunch advocate for diversity and inclusivity in the workplace.
