Belinda is the Strategic Lead for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) at the University of Lincoln and Founding Director of the Eleanor Glanville Institute. She specialises in the development and evaluation of EDI strategies and interventions, assessing their impact across the sector. Belinda has developed a range of sector-leading initiatives (including the Returners’ Research Fund, Researchers’ Covid Impact Fund and the Back2Science Research Programme. She is an established research leader, an experienced team-builder and facilitator of large multicentre, multi-sectoral and multidisciplinary research projects. She is Director of the EPSRC ASPIRE project, an ‘Inclusion Matters’ project to develop innovative strategies and mechanisms for measuring, monitoring and evaluating the impact of EDI interventions on attitudes and behaviours in the research environment. As a keen advocate for equality – particularly the support of women in STEM disciplines – Belinda co-founded the Newton Academy: the science club for girls, in 2014.
