John Uwagboe

John Uwagboe is a tech leader turned entrepreneur who builds bridges between data and people, cultures and communities, and risk and resilience. With a proven track record in corporate leadership and recognised work advancing diversity, equity and inclusion, John has translated vision into practice by creating spaces where people feel seen, valued and empowered. Drawing on his Afro-Caribbean heritage, he co-founded Uwagboe’s Kitchen & Grill in Edinburgh with his wife, Funso, creating a cultural hub that fosters belonging through food, storytelling and community. Beyond business, John established the Uwagboe Foundation to support ethnic-minority families via hands-on philanthropy, and he serves as a director of Nigerians in Scotland CIC, championing representation and socio-economic inclusion. His leadership role at World Mission Agency – Winner’s Chapel International, Scotland Ltd underlines a faith-led commitment to community development.
